Mastaplex is very pleased to welcome Dr Sam Harrison in the newly established position of Senior Software Engineer and Data Scientist.
A key part of Sam's remit will be to investigate the insights that can be achieved from the unique mastitis dataset that each Mastatest customer collates over time. He'll also be developing new tools for visualising these insights to make them actionable for Mastatest customers. Our goal is to revolutionise the tools veterinarians and farmers use to optimise mastitis management on the farm.
Sam has extensive experience developing models and software for analysing complex data. He joins us from Dunedin technology firm, ADInstruments, where he was a Software Engineer. Prior to this, he was a neuroscience researcher. As an academic, Sam used data science and machine learning to reveal new insights from brain imaging data, including mapping the way that the symptoms of Parkinson's disease change over time with colleagues at the New Zealand Brain Research Institute. Sam holds a Masters in Engineering from Cambridge University, and a PhD in Neuroscience from Oxford University.
